St. Leonard's church, Thorpe
Deanery of Ashbourne Diocese of Derby

Vicar: Revd. Christopher Harrison
The Vicarage, Parwich, Ashbourne DE6 1QD tel. 01335 390226 email
St. Leonard's church is situated on the edge of a village which for many centuries was dominated by farming, but has recently attracted residents from a range of occupations and backgrounds. The church building goes back to Norman times, and contains several features of historic interest - see the link to the church history below. It is listed Grade I.
Church services are largely traditional and well-supported, and visitors are always welcome. There is a Sunday club for children from 9.30 to 10.30 am on the first Sunday of the month - children meet in the church for the beginning of the communion service, before leaving for the village hall.
There are two lay readers - Faith Hanson and Ros Hunt; one reader emeritus - Jean Skilbeck; and one reader in training - Carole Baines.
The church is open to visitors during daylight hours.
