Shirley Church from the South and the Interior
The church of St Michael has a 14th century chancel, 14th century south aisle with an arcade of octagonal piers, and East windows in Perpendicular style.
The tower, north aisle and other windows were added in the 19th century.
Outside the east wall is a worn stone from a Norman lintel.which is carved with images of beasts and birds. The church contains a late medieval slab which is inscribed in memory of a priest.
